Inside Our In-House Lab
Our laboratory is built to give our veterinarians a full picture of your dog's health without sending samples out and waiting days for a response.
- Bloodwork and chemistry analysis - Our CBC machines and chemistry analyzers let us evaluate organ function and check for signs of infection in minutes rather than days.
- Microscopic testing - Our microscope gets used constantly, whether we are checking a skin scrape for mites, examining a sample for intestinal parasites, or performing cytology on a suspicious lump to determine whether it needs further attention.
- Urinalysis - Our urinalysis reader helps us catch kidney issues, urinary infections and other conditions that often show up in urine before symptoms appear anywhere else.
- Electrocardiography (ECG) - We run ECGs on-site to evaluate a dog's heart rhythm, and when a case calls for it, we coordinate with cardiology specialists for a deeper cardiac workup.
Digital X-Rays
X-rays are one of the first tools we turn to for dogs with limping, coughing, vomiting or any physical exam finding that does not add. Because our system is digital, we can capture multiple images in quick succession without the wait or chemical processing that older film systems required, and the resulting images are sharper and easier to evaluate. A digital dental X-ray unit rounds out our imaging capability, letting us see disease hiding below the gumline long before it would show up during a visual exam.
Ultrasound When a Picture Isn’t Enough
X-rays are excellent for bones and general organ outlines, but some conditions call for a closer look at soft tissue. If we suspect an abdominal mass, a swallowed object that is not radiopaque, or an issue that bloodwork alone cannot explain, we may recommend an ultrasound to get a clearer, real-time view of what is happening inside.
